The Maribel Food Pantry is a non-profit commodities distribution site. We strive to supplement the food budgets of our participants by providing fresh and non- perishable food items. We receive products and commodities thru the Lakeshore Cap Office as a TEFAP food pantry. We are required by these regulations to collect an equal amount in donated commodities as we receive from the USDA. For this we have to rely on the generosity of our communities. Although we receive support from local churches and organizations the majority of our support comes directly from the people in the communities we service. Throughout the year we are blessed with non- perishable food collections sponsored at different locations. We are very thankful that Van Horn Motors is willing to help us with our December collection. Van Horn’s motto of “Family Born, Employee Owned” should be changed to say “Family Born, Employee Owned, Community Involved” because they offer and do so much good for the communities they are located in. We have been blessed to have Van Horn Motors donate computer equipment, shelving and other needed items. Now they are generously offering the service customers a reduction in their service bill by helping out our food pantry. We can’t express how blessed we are to have Van Horn Motors so willing to support local charities.
